3D Printing Crowdfunding - April 2024
There are currently some pretty cool crowdfunding projects involving 3D Printing LIVE on both kickstarter and indiegogo.
Here’s a few that I found extra interesting and wanted to share!
Pellets 3D Printing for consumers
The NAW3D Pellets 3D Printer for consumers looks like a really interesting project although the interest is “slow” on Indiegogo.
With features like screw-extruder able to heat up to 300C and print pellets from… anyone you would think this is a moneysaver. Sure the machine might be expensive, but the running costs should be incredible low when you can save by buying pellets in bulk instead of processed filament.
NAW3d also comes in two sizes. 300x300x320mm or 500x500x250mm build size depending on your needs.

ULTIMO - 3D Printable Modular Case System
Designed to let you organize, store, display and transport your precious collectables.
If you are a collector of figurines, trading cards, dices, games and whatnot, you’ll love this amazing multi-functional modular case building system.
The Kickstarter campaign aims to provide print-ready STL files in pre-organised folders and extensive step-by-step guides to make sure you have the best possible case 3D printed.

The project has been developed during several months and a firm set of design principles to maximize efficient design space with standards, compatibility and more. See Linton (the designers) own list below:
Less Case, More Space – Maximize internal volume and reduce visual imparement of what’s inside. (Internal dimensions listed below in graphic)
Flexible Lighting – LED Strip tracks on all 6 internal sides to light your objects in unique and interesting ways from any or all directions. (Build an LED infinity cube!)
Standard sizing – Based around a 12x12inch (300x300mm) acrylic panel, available at most hardware stores to minimize waste and costs.
Easy to assemble – Snap together, add glue and not require a tonne of extra hardware.
Adjustable – Slide locking shelf hangers with a range of height options.
Case < What’s inside – Aesthetically pleasing while not drawing attention away from the objects inside.
Modular & Scalable – 3D Print more of the same parts to make it bigger.
Multifunctional – Ability to use different accessories to change the function.
3D Printing in focus
Although the 3D Printing part of the project is in focus, you still need basic hardware components like magnets and standard acrylic glass sheets found at local hardware stores.
A lot of focus has also been to add great lighting options with LED-strips around your collectables.
What I like is all the different additional things like holders, brackets, shelves, drawers, handles, hooks and more that you get to print using your 3D Printer!
