I'm Anton Månsson, and I run 3D Print Tech Design, where I test and review 3D printers and 3D scanners on this site and on YouTube.
I’m a creator with over 20 years of experience with 3D Design, 3D Printing and 3D scanning.
Within the field I’ve worked with sales, production, training, consulting and support. I’ve had the honor to help several thousands of customers get their first 3D printers by directly calling or discussion what would suit their needs the best.
My time at Creative Tools (the creator of 3D benchy) gave me incredible insight from high-end stratasys and 3D systems machines into the first Makerbots “consumer” ready 3D printers when they hit the market. My first own 3D printer was the Makerbot Replicator Dual (the wooden one!)
I had the opprtunity to work with everything from gipsym 3D printers to large resin printers, incredible 3D scanners and consumer solutions. I’ve trained people that now work in top-positions at everything from IKEA, Volvo and creative agencies. I’ve been able to help cusomters solve simple and complex tasks as support or consultation. I’ve 3D scanned thousands of parts and reverse engineered them for customers all across Europe. I’ve been at 3D Printing events as both participant and exhibitor, visited Bre Pettis home together with MakerBot, toured factories in Poland, met with hundreds of manufacturers and resellers around the world.
The Studio
After 10+ years at Creative Tools I started my own 3D business in paired with Content creation. It now exists as 3D Konsult Månsson in Norway.
The studio in my garage is packed, ready for producing videos and content expressing my insights and thoughts about products and news in the space.
Fun facts:
When I worked at Creative Tools, the creator of 3D Benchy, me and my dad brainstormed the idea to create standardized benchmark for when new 3D Printer models arrived, or customers experienced problems with theirs.
Daniel Norée took the concept to it’s incredible fame with his unique boat-design that allowed it to become the facto standard in 3D printing benchmarks for over a decade.
Me and Daniel Norée have spend countless “fikaraster” together at Creative Tools wondering why our YouTube videos didn’t go viral.. We still do!
Back in 2013 I made a hexacopter (6-arms) before 3D printing drones was cool.
I crashed it.
The first 3D Printer I bough and owned myself was the Replicator Dual. Before that I sold a Thing-O-Matic to my Dad, which I now have in my studio as a relic!

I use my experience to test machines because I love to help people make the best and most educated decisions when either getting into 3D printing for the first time or exploring the current best 3D scanning options.
