The perfect Bambu Lab upgrade?

Bigtreetech (BIQU) have just released one of the most interesting upgrades to Bambu Lab 3D Printers, The Panda Touch.

The Panda Touch is a touch screen that is compatible with your Bambu Lab 3D Printer and let’s your P1P or P1S receive a full-control touch screen. Making it one step closer to an X1 3D Printer.

The cool thing is that one panda supports not only one, but 10 3D Printers at once!

Here’s what you need to know.

A plug and play upgrade for your P1 series Bambu Lab 3D Printer

The Panda touch comes with a mounting bracket that fits the P1P/P1S screen. You then use the build in USB-port on your printer to provide power and you’re up and running!

It also has an internal battery, so you could move it around and control your machines on the go.

The Panda touch uses Wifi to connect to your printer(s) and will technically act similar to your Bambu Lab handy app, expect that it does it easier with a better user interface.

Why buy a Panda Touch?

The Panda Touch is mostly a nice touch interface for your 3D Printer. At least for your P1 series 3D Printer.

It let’s you control the same features as before done through a computer or handy-app. But makes it so much easier to navigate, see and actually perform tasks on your printer.

It technically doesn’t “add” any major new features to your one specific printer directly, but makes it much more handy to navigate 2+ 3D printer farm and it’s much easier to navigate local printing files.

However, there is hints about a temperature and humidity sensor that might be sold seperatly. We don’t know if it’s just a sensor, or a way to control the temperature.

If used correctly, the temp-sensor could feed info into the panda touch and adjust the heating of the plate, so you end up with a temperature controlled chamber like an X1E. We’ll have to wait and see what they come up with!

Another really nice feature is that you can better add and control 3rd party materials and colors for your P1-series AMS, just like the X1-series allows you to.

Control multiple 3D printers

If you’re using more than one printer in a farm for example, it can be a hassle organizing AMS-loadouts when sending multiple prints over and over from a computer. The Panda touch makes it easier to have a “inventory” per machine/AMS and easily start the right print instead of trying to find the correct 3mf on your computer.

The USB-port on the side can also be a great way to just take one .3mf file and send it to all your grouped printers at once, which is great for farm-operators!

The view of multiple printers is awesome, but could be visualized better, hopefully this can be upgraded to let you see more in one picture.
